Tuba Student Eligibility
Participants must not have reached their 20th birthday prior to December 1, 2013. Participants may be of any sex, race or nationality. Previous first place winners of the Student Level Competition must enter the Artist Level should they compete in ensuing years.
The applicants selected as semi-finalists or alternates will be required to submit proof of age to the festival.
Recordings
NEW: The Festival will accept MP3 or MP4 recordings for the 2013 competition. The submitted recording must contain no spoken words nor identifying information in the title, etc. Recordings should be made with a high degree of integrity that represents your best musical interpretation and effort. Remember that at the Festival, you will be playing live without the luxury of correcting errors.
MP3/MP4 file must not exceed 15MB.

Deadlines
Early Submission
Early submission applications AND recordings must be received by midnight (Eastern Daylight Time) March 15, 2013.
Early submission student fee is $50 (USD). The fee for written comments on your recording is an additional $40 (USD).
Regular Submission
Regular submission applications AND recordings must be received by noon (Eastern Daylight Time) March 31, 2013.
Regular submission student fee is $80 (USD). The fee for written comments on your recording is an additional $40 (USD).
Application process
There are two steps to this process
FIRST: Applications and fees are accepted online ONLY. Only credit cards are accepted; if you do not have a credit card, you will need to contact Sue Topping. At the successful completion of the application process, each applicant will receive a unique confirmation number. Save this number!

Your application for the 2013 Falcone Festival WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED COMPLETE until we have received your application, payment, and MP3/MP4 file!

Notification of Semi-Finalists and Receipt of Comments
Notification of semi-finalists should occur by May 1, 2013. Comments will be sent by the end of May 2013.
The applicants selected as semi-finalists or alternates will be required to submit proof of age to the Festival.

Preliminary Round
Donald Haddad: Suite for Tuba, Complete with piano (Shawnee Press) Movements 1 & 3
(Play repeats in 3rd movement)
Record entire work with piano (where applicable)
MP3 or MP4 files only - no other form of recorded media will be accepted.
Please avoid any labeling of a personal nature on the MP3/MP4 file (name, initials, image, etc.)
Recordings of poor audio quality will not be evaluated.
Semi-final Round
