Dr. Leonard Falcone was a pioneering exponent of the Baritone and Euphonium and a longtime professor at Michigan State University. The Falcone Festival was founded by several of his former students in 1986, the year after his death, to honor his memory. Held annually, the Festival includes 4 divisions of solo competitions for euphonium and tuba that are internationally recognized and highly competitive. The Festival provides a continuing testimony to the profound influence of Dr. Falcone upon the lives of his students and the extraordinary level of artistry he achieved throughout his career.

Information regarding Competitor Registration, please read carefully:

Student Division Applicant Proof of Age Documentation:

  • For the 2024 Festival, a participant who will be 20 years old or older on December 1, 2024, is NOT ELIGIBLE to apply in either student division.
  • Student division contestants who have not submitted proof of age are not eligible to compete. Acceptable proof of age includes a scanned copy of a birth certificate, passport photo page, driver's license, or officially issued government ID that includes date of birth.
  • Filesize is limited to 500 KB (no exceptions). Allowed file formats are .jpeg, .gif, .png.

Please note: you will be requested to submit a scanned document as proof of age along with your recording during Registration.
